Upcoming Workshops I’m Attending (2026–2027)

I tend to learn best when I set myself a goal to work toward. Having a plan helps me show up with intention, without locking myself into expectations that leave no room for curiosity.

These are the workshops I’m currently planning for 2026 and 2027. The list is mostly firm, but life happens, so I’ll update this as things evolve.

2026

Haida Gwaii

Instructors: https://monikadeviatphotography.com and https://viktoriahaakphotography.ca

A remote archipelago off of British Columbia’s north coast with two amazing female photographers? Yes please! As I find myself moving towards more environmental shots, it is clear that understanding landscape photography will be critical. Both Viktoria and Monika are masters at landscapes and so much more! Haida Gwaii is such a biodiverse island, and I suspect it will be like nothing I have seen before.

South Carolina Shorebirds — June 2026

Instructor: https://www.kelleyluikey.com

I am really pumped up about this private workshop with Kelley Luikey. Her mastery of light and perspective stands out among many, and I just cannot wait to shoot alongside her on the shores of South Carolina.

Newfoundland Puffins — July 2026

Instructor: https://www.travinthebush.com

I chose this workshop for a few reasons. First, my experience with Travis at his Bald Eagle workshop last July was incredible. Second, well… puffins in Newfoundland. Enough said. I’m really looking forward to spending more time learning with Travis.

Alaskan Brown Bears — August 2026

Instructor: https://kristoffdruvaphotography.com

This is a unique brown bear workshop that has us camping with the bears, up before dawn, and photographing long before others can even reach the area by boat. Camping, hiking, and the opportunity to capture environmental images of these powerful animals is a combination I am totally down for! I’m a little nervous, and a whole lot excited, about this one.

Churchill Polar Bears — September 2026

Instructor: https://www.sergiushannan.com

I’ve always loved images of the Churchill polar bears, but I’m especially drawn to seeing them photographed in the fall. The contrast, the unexpectedness, polar bears without snow and ice, feels almost surreal. I discovered Sergius through a 2027 workshop I was planning, and I really love his environmental style. I’m also hoping for hands‑on experience photographing the northern lights at this time of year.

2027

Yellowstone & Grand Tetons — February 2027

Instructor: https://www.thinkwildexp.com

I’ve followed Art and Brooke’s work for a while and started seriously looking at their workshops last summer. I love their down‑to‑earth approach and am excited to learn more about winter photography in the snow and to deepen my understanding of the land we’ll be exploring.

Salt Lake - April 2027

Instructor:‍ ‍https://www.rayhennessy.com

Looking forward to this unique experience to shoot at the Great Salt Lake with Ray. The area is vast, the birds are plentiful, and the sunrises and sunsets are to die for. The shooting won’t be easy here (dirty and stinky), but I cannot wait!

Brown Bear Bay — August 2027

Instructors: https://www.rayhennessy.com and https://www.sergiushannan.com

Ray and Sergius together, a private lodge, and Brown Bear Bay. This one feels special. I can’t think of a better place to put everything I’ll be learning over the next year into practice, brown bears against the volcanic foothills of Mount Iliamna. My heart genuinely beats faster when I think about this experience.

As I look ahead to 2027, I hope to add a few more workshops. I’m especially interested in learning from female wildlife photography workshop leaders, as I’d like to gain diverse perspectives in an industry largely dominated by men. If you know of anyone whose work you admire, hit me up, as I would love to hear your recommendations!

I’ll keep this post up to date as workshops are completed and new ones are added.
